Alyson Iwamoto is a native Los Angeles ceramic artist. Both her Japanese heritage and L.A. roots deeply influence her work. She has worked in clay for 20 years with a BFA in ceramics from Cal State University Long Beach.
For nearly a decade, Alyson was a ceramics instructor to children attending Inner-City Arts, a non-profit organization located in skid row, California. It's where she learned the meaning of humanity and the potential of imagination.
Currently, she is focused on and exploring the philosophy of wabi sabi, transforming paper origami into porcelain, and discovering the infinite possibility in a stamp-size square of space.
